Result: Lost 0-3, 18-25, 19-25, 20-25

Twelve players, what a terrific turn-out. It’s lovely to see all the girls enjoying their volleyball and keen to play even though that does present some challenges in keeping everyone involved.

The team played pretty well, service recieve and court coverage was much improved from last Sundays Wirral A matches and this led to a better attacking performance. Arguably we played better volleyball than Royals, playing with good shape, covering well, and building a lot of useful attack but the Royals team had a lot of experience and were always able to keep their noses ahead by preventing our team winning a run of points. Our girls were also let down by a lot of service errors which often gave the initiative back to the opposition just when we were beginning to develop some momentum.

A fair result, not a bad performance against an experienced team, that sets us a challenge to improve when we play the return fixture after Easter.
